After completing a distinguished 27-year law enforcement career, Michael J. McNamara joined the company to head the Columbia, SC office. The service area covers the entire midlands of South Carolina.

Michael began his career in New York in 1983, working with the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and then the Putnam Valley Police Department.  He rose to the rank of Patrol Sergeant and also served as Acting Chief of Police with the Putnam Valley department.  In 1995, Michael and his family relocated to South Carolina and to work for the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

Michael spent several years as a uniform patrol deputy and field training officer, where his dedication and adaptability was quickly recognized, earning him a promotion to Master Deputy.  As a Master Deputy, Michael was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division where he worked as a Homicide Investigator for six and a half years.  He graduated from the prestigious Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville, as well as numerous other death investigation and criminal investigation schools.  His successful leadership in multiple high profile murder investigations, including death penalty cases, is renowned.

Michael’s many hours of competent and professional courtroom testimony have earned him the respect and admiration of the legal community.  He has created and maintained long standing, professional relationships with judges, attorneys, and numerous law enforcement agencies and support organizations statewide.  He has earned an exceptional reputation for his professional demeanor and work ethic.

In 2006, Michael was promoted to Sergeant in the Criminal Investigation Division.  In his capacity as Sergeant, Michael supervised and managed investigators in the Economic Crimes, Armed Robbery, Sex Crimes, Crimes against Children, Data Recovery, Sex Offender Registry, and Victims Advocate unit.  His extensive experience in criminal investigations, management, and supervision allow him to provide competent and effective investigative and security services to the Columbia area.

Michael has created a sizeable force of certified, well trained security officers, based in Columbia, who serve a wide variety of clients all across the midlands.
